Mario got a Bachelor of Engineering in Telematics from Valencia Polytechnic University. In Manchester University, he got an MPhil on the computation of electromagnetics and he was working for two years in parallel and distributed computing. In 2014 he joined a four-year program (MRes plus Ph.D.) in the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Cloud Computing for Big Data at Newcastle University. The area of his research was investigating the application of Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques for cybersecurity. In 2018 he was an intern at the Alan Turing Institute (the UK’s research institute in Data Sciences and AI) working on computer vision models.

Currently, he is a Research Fellow at the UCL Genetics Institute. His interests are on computational multi-omics of cancer and cancer imaging.
