MSc Student

I'm a recent graduate of MSc Genetics of Human Disease programme 2019 at UCL.
I joined Dr Secrier to undertake my research in computational genomics and focused on studying ageing processes in cancer. Specifically, we looked at the interplay between mutations that are induced by ageing processes in cells and how they potentially impacted on the activity of a specific cellular pathway, the mTOR pathway, that is linked to both ageing and cancer development.
Prior to this, in 2018 I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Genetics at the University of Liverpool. During my 3 years of undergraduate study, I undertook several research internships in computational genomics at the Institute of Integrative Biology, Liverpool, where I worked with large datasets and programmed data using R. For my Honours Project, I took a bioinformatics approach to undertake functional and comparative genomics of the dessert plant species Kalanchoƫ.
